Apple Health permission is not working

Track Macro reads your weight and writes the calories, macros and nutrients you log, only for the data types you allowed. If sync stopped or the permission sheet never appeared:

  1. Open the iOS Health app › your profile picture › Apps and Services (on older iOS: Privacy › Apps) › Track Macro.
  2. Turn on Weight under Read, and the dietary types (Energy, Protein, Carbohydrates, Fat and the nutrients you want) under Write. "Turn All Categories On" is the quickest option.
  3. Back in Track Macro, go to Profile › Apple Health and toggle the switch off and on once to re-check permissions.
  4. If the sheet still never appears, Health access may be blocked by Screen Time: Settings › Screen Time › Content & Privacy Restrictions › Health.

Apple does not tell apps whether read permission was denied, so the app cannot always show an error. The steps above fix almost every case.

Restore Pro purchases

  1. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple Account that bought Pro (Settings › your name).
  2. Open Track Macro › Profile › Restore purchases.
  3. Within a few seconds the membership card should show Pro. If it still shows Free, force-quit the app and open it again; subscription status can take a minute to sync.

If you bought Pro on another Apple Account, restore will not find it. Apple subscriptions are tied to the Apple Account, not the phone. Family Sharing is not currently enabled for Track Macro Pro.

Cancel a subscription

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone › tap your name › Subscriptions.
  2. Tap Track Macro › Cancel Subscription (or Cancel Free Trial).
  3. Pro stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, then the app returns to the free plan with all your data intact.

Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. Apple's full guide: Cancel a subscription from Apple. To cancel the free trial without being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.

Delete your account

  1. Open Track Macro › Profile › scroll to the bottom › Delete account.
  2. Confirm. Your account, onboarding answers, plan and usage counters are removed from our servers immediately, and your diary, supplements, streaks and other local data are wiped from the device.
  3. Data you let the app write to Apple Health stays in the Health app under your control. Delete it there if you want it gone: Health › Browse › the data type › Data Sources & Access › Track Macro › Delete All Data.

Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription. Cancel first (above) if you do not want it to renew. If you cannot open the app, email us and we will work with you to identify and delete the account manually.

AI estimate says the daily limit is reached

The free plan includes 3 photo or text estimates a day; the count resets at midnight UTC. Everything else, including barcode, search, custom and recent foods, stays unlimited. Pro raises the allowance to 60 estimates a day. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence (iOS 26), a typed line is understood on your device first and does not count toward the limit; photos, and text the device cannot read, are estimated on our server and do count.

An estimate or food entry looks wrong

AI estimates are a starting point. Tap any number on the estimate card to correct it before saving, or edit the entry later from the diary. For database foods, check the serving size first; most "wrong" entries are a serving mismatch. If a database food is genuinely wrong, send us the food name and we will fix it.

Siri or Shortcuts does not open logging

Say "Log a meal in Track Macro" or "Add food to Track Macro", or run the Log a meal action from Spotlight or the Shortcuts app. It opens Track Macro on the add-food screen; it does not log food by voice. If nothing happens, open the app once after installing or updating, then check that Siri is allowed for Track Macro in the iOS Settings app (Settings › Apps › Track Macro on iOS 18 and later, Settings › Track Macro on iOS 17). Track Macro has no Home Screen or Lock Screen widgets yet.

Export my data

Open Track Macro › Profile › Export my data. The app puts a machine-readable (JSON) copy of your profile, plan, targets, diary and supplements into the share sheet, so you can save it to Files or send it anywhere. Your diary is stored on your iPhone, so export it before deleting the app. See the privacy policy for your other rights.
